欲知太姥几山重，

翠色三千下闽东。

云气铺开茶海绿，

沙洲望遍柚林浓。

一湾鳞甲因潮起，

几处石桥对月空。

造化休随余子设，

应谙百越尽英雄。

Ode to Ningde

Mount Taimu, how many peaks do you have?

You tower above the land of the brave.

Spring breezes over a vast sea of tea leaves.

A golden hue of autumn pomelo weaves.

Shoals of fish come with the rise of the tide.

Old stone bridges are known to all far and wide.

Ningde, a city of hills, rills 'n people great,

Is an ideal place that God does create.

宁德，又称闽东，是福建省东北部的地级市，南邻福州、北接温州、西毗南平。有“中国大黄鱼之乡”“园林城市”等美誉。宁德市辖蕉城区、东侨经济技术开发区、福安市、福鼎市、霞浦县、古田县、屏南县、寿宁县、周宁县、柘荣县等9个县（市、区）。

About Ningde

Ningde, also known as Mindong (lit. East of Fujian), is a prefecture-level city located along the northeastern coast of Fujian province. It borders the provincial capital of Fuzhou to the south, Wenzhou (Zhejiang) to the north, and Nanping to the west. It is well-known as a “home to large yellow croaker” or garden city. The prefecture-level Ningde City administers 2 districts, namely Jiaocheng District, Dongqiao Economic and Technical Development Zone; 2 cities, namely Fuan and Fuding; 6 counties, namely Xiapu, Gutian, Pingnan, Shouning, Zhouning and Zherong.
